2013 Song of the Year

The 2013 Christmas Song of the Year is Silent Night. Many thanks to everyone who voted and took part.

Now that I’ve done this once, next year we’ll be able to actually work down to which exact version of a song is our listener’s favorite. So if you’re an artist, or just a fan of a specific version of a Christmas song, let me know and I’ll start figuring out a way to mke this work in 2014.

    I wish “Round the Christmas tree at Home” were more popular. I had it as ayoungster on the back of a 78 RPM record of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” The song was writtemn during World War II and is like “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” in that it was a soldier who coiulld not actually be home for Christmas.
