Podcast and Station Status Update

Only 17 days to go! Wow, the elves have been busy, the reindeer are stocking up on magic beans, and we actually had snow flurries last night. Oh boy, it is really starting to feel like Christmas!

The station is doing quite well. Many thanks to the dedicated listeners who are tuning in regularly. Christmas Music 24/7 is now the #4 station at Live365. And yesterday we had, for the first time ever, over 12,000 hours of listeners. I’ve gotten a few emails from people asking why iTunes is broken, or how they can listen to the station in the afternoon. Well, I’m sorry, really the only thing to do is to keep trying; or to pay ~$5 for a one month subscription as a VIP member. VIP members don’t hear any ads, and more importantly, are not subject to the 500 listener cap that I’ve paid for. So if you have the VIP, you can listen to Christmas Music 24/7, or any other Christmas station without having to worry about the station being full. Plus, if you use the Green “Become a VIP” button on my station page, I will earn a little bit of money that will help offset my broadcasting bill.

And the podcast is going very well. We’ve had 4 interviews completed so far, and each has been very popular, with a total of nearly 7,000 downloads so far. The podcast is currently a “New and Notable” podcast in the Music Category in the iTunes Store; and is ranked as #15 in the Top Podcast listing. You can subscribe using iTunes by following this link: Christmas Carols, Music and Songs. Or if you can use some other podcatcher by subscribing to this URL: /cm247.xml.

Coming up, I have two more interviews with musicians. Plus I am going to start interviewing some of the other broadcasters of Christmas music. If there is anyone you’d like to hear, just let me know.
